Derek Lake joined Notre Dame Nanoscience and Technology in March 2019 as its Associate Director. Dr. Lake received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Lindenwood University and a PhD in analytical chemistry from the University of Delaware. He spent more than 15 years at General Electric Plastics/SABIC as an analytical chemist, process chemist, and most recently as the Americas region analytical technology manager. During this time, Derek was involved in the development, characterization, and scale-up of new and existing polymers.
