The first Seed Transformative Interdisciplinary Research (STIR) grants, announced in early 2023 by the Notre Dame College of Science and College of Engineering, have been awarded to four new research projects led by multidisciplinary teams of scientists and engineers.
The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the world’s largest and most prestigious educational and scientific computing society, has named Xiaobo Sharon Hu, professor of computer science and engineering at the University of Notre Dame, a 2021 fellow.
Pinar Zorlutuna, Sheehan Family Collegiate Professor of Engineering, has been named a member of the Cellular and Molecular Technologies Study Section of the National Institutes of Health Center for Scientific Review.
The annual award honors a faculty or staff member in the Notre Dame College of Engineering “who has made a dramatic positive impact on women’s engineering experience” through teaching and mentoring; service and support; and advocacy for women in engineering.
