Projects

Silicon Tunnel Diode Integrated Circuits
Sponsor : SRC

Silicon tunnel diode circuit technology is being developed using rapid thermal diffusion and spin-on diffusants for demonstration of tunnel diode/CMOS circuits.

Tunnel SRAM
Sponsor: Intel

Single transistor static random access memory is being developed utilizing low current polysilicon/oxide/silicon tunnel diodes.

Microwave Detection of Biological and Chemical Agents
Sponsor: United Engineering Foundation

A new approach for bioagent detection is being developed based on microwave spectroscopy of a fluid-filled semiconductor microstripline.

Mixed-Signal Nanoelectronics
Sponsor: ONR

This program will develop new ways to use resonant tunneling diodes for high speed and mixed signal electronic applications. A direct digital synthesizer using AlAs/InGaAs resonant tunneling diodes and InP/GaAsSb double heterojunction bipolar transistors is under construction.

Nanoelectromechanical Inertial Sensors
Sponsor: DCI

Tunneling-based nanoelectromechanical sensors are being developed for autonomous navigation.
