2015 Project Summaries

2015 NURF Junker

Recipients of the 2015 NDnano Undergraduate Research Fellowships have each prepared a recap of their summer research experience (see below).  The 37 undergrad researchers represented 14 universities throughout the U.S., Japan, India, Ireland, and Mexico. With funding provided by NDnano, the Naughton REU Program, the National Science Foundation, and the S.N. Bose Scholars Program, the students applied and were selected by a member of the NDnano faculty to spend 10 weeks of their summer immersed in research on the campus of Notre Dame. In addition to time spent in the lab, the NURF program provided professional development opportunities, including seminars on how to improve presentation skills, create effective research posters, and help determine future career paths. The researchers also gained valuable experience presenting their research in a variety of venues.
